Make your next outing a trip back in time.

No reservations are necessary to visit the museum during regular public regular public hours. Larger groups, such as bus tours and school groups, are asked to contact the museum to schedule their visit in advance. Guided tours may be scheduled for groups of eight or more. A written and digital guide is available to help visitors explore the museum’s historic house.

Museum Shop

The Museum Shop offers a small carefully curated selection of RJD mementos, books, garden supplies and home goods. It is open during regular museum hours and admission is not required. Museum Members receive a 10% discount.

Accessibility
The Rotch-Jones-Duff House and Garden Museum is a historic house. We have made all reasonable efforts to equip the house and grounds to be accessible to the public. The second floor of the house is not handicap accessible and may only be reached by a staircase. The first floor is accessible to the public via a ramp while our wheelchair lift is under repair. The grounds and garden are fully accessible and can be accessed via the accessible entrance on Madison Street. There is a handicap parking space on Madison Street.
Digital Guide

A digital guide is available to anyone who wishes to view the contents of the historic house. The digital guide provides photos and audio descriptions of the exhibitions throughout the museum. It is free and accessed by QR code once on site.

Visiting with Young Children
A scavenger hunt is available to encourage careful looking and make the museum visit a more hands-on experience. Ask our front desk staff for it when you arrive. Private rooms are available for nursing mothers and diaper-changing.

MUSEUM HOURS

  • Wednesday through Saturday, 10am – 4pm.
  • Sundays, 12 – 4pm (Memorial Day through Indigenous People’s Day)
  • Closed select holidays & December 25 through January 1.
  • Closed at 12pm on November 22 and December 24.

MUSEUM ADMISSION

  • Adults: $8
  • Seniors (65+)/Students with I.D.: $6
  • Children (under 18): Free
  • NEMA & AAM Members: Free
  • Museums for All – EBT, SUN Bucks, WIC and ConnectorCare Cardholders* (up to 4 people), Wunderfund: Free
  • Active Duty Military: Free (between Memorial and Labor Days)
  • Family max: $25 (This fee applies to a family with a maximum of two adults who visit with any number of children under 18 that are related to them.)

*We are proud to participate in the Card to Culture program, a collaboration between Mass Cultural Council and the Department of Transitional Assistance, the Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Nutrition Program, and the Massachusetts Health Connector, by broadening accessibility to cultural programming.

The garden is free to the public and open from sunrise to sunset, daily.
